Rehabilitative Massage and Wellness Education

About Our HealthySteps Practitioners

Before we started our journey into the health and wellness field, Christina worked with children and adults for 6 years as a Teacher and Mobility Instructor for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Brian was a Recreational Therapist working with clients in hospitals and rehab centers. In 2001 we met, had a beautiful wedding and moved to Colorado so Christina could attend the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy (CIMT). Initially, Brian had no interest in massage (other than receiving them) but was so impressed with NeuroMuscular Massage that he started the program too. We were the first married couple to graduate together at CIMT (not bad for newlyweds)! We are both Internationally Certified in NeuroMuscular Massage.

Christina continued her studies in the therapeutic use of essential oils and is now a Fully Certified C.A.R.E. Instructor (Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education) and has been holding 3 day trainings on Essential Oils since 2006.   She also received training, and has been implementing Manual Lymph Drainage since 2006.

Brian's massage path took him in the direction of NeuroMuscular Massage, Orthopedic Massage and Sports Massage. Brian started the massage program at Raleigh Orthopedic's Sports program, where he worked from 2006 - 20012.  He also works with the North Carolina State University Sports Department.  Brian was the "Official Massage Therapist for the Carolina Hurricanes" between 2007 - 2013.

Our experiences with families, adults and children with disabilities drove us to create our business; Healthy Steps. We saw that when one member of the family was dealing with a physical or emotional concern, it subtly affected the whole family. The opposite was also true, when one member is healthy and feeling good, it has a positive influence on the family.

We are passionate about sharing how a natural approach can support a family's path towards health and wellness.

We're honored to play a role in supporting you and your family on the path to health.  We are excited to share what new things we've learned about with massage, essential oils and natural alternatives.
